History of Scouting
Boy Scouts were formed in Great Britain by Lord
Baden Powell, and later exported to the US. The original khaki uniform was
patterned after the uniform of the South African Constabulary, the uniform Baden
-Powel wore. The motto (Be Prepared) was also from the South African
Constabulary.
The President of the US is the honorary President of the Boy Scouts of
America.
