On September 30th, 1998, Msen installed production V.90 modem code
into all of our Superpop hunt groups ending in
-8000 and
-8100 as well as
Grand Rapids and
Lansing.
Users with V.90 capable modems should insure
they are running the latest firmware revision!
A good place to start is the
V.90/K56flex Upgrade Site.
Other digital modem phone numbers will continue to run K56flex for now, providing alternative service for users who may have problems connecting with V.90. If you have problems, please let us know. Users calling our analog lines should consider changing phone numbers.

On September 27th, 1997, Msen upgraded all of its digital
modem pools to K56flex modems. It is important to note that version
1.1 of K56flex is supported. ati3 should show the ROM revision of
your modem. v0.5?? will only run at 33.6k.
Users with earlier K56flex modems should contact their modem manufacturers for current flash code or for an RMA upgrade if necessary. Most manufacturers have the most current upgrade available on their websites. The K56.com web site has links to most update sites.
Additionally, a site dedicated to all 56K modems, 56K.com has additional information and is a bit better organized. (Yes, it is confusing.) Many users have reported that this site is a better place to start.

The current list of modems numbers is available via: http://www.msen.com/prices/phones.html As Msen is able to monitor connections speeds, we have seen speeds up to 52K so far on these modems. (4/28/98)
